While a season of folkstyle wrestling is recommended, our freestyle program is for wrestlers of all experience levels. We welcome wrestlers ages 5-18 to join us from March-May to learn freestyle wrestling. While freestyle and folkstyle are similar, freestyle emphasizes action, aggressiveness, and scoring. We will practice 2-3 times a week with optional tournaments on weekends.

This year, wrestlers will be coached by Joe Chandler, BLHS girls head coach who has led his team to the top of podiums, and Sam Peterson, former collegiate wrestler and BLHS state champion.

Equipment required: Wrestling shoes, **A $70 USAW card is required, and provides secondary insurance in case of injury. We can help with this process at practice**

Optional equipment: headgear, red/blue singlet if choosing to compete at tournaments
